Saudi Biryani, on the other hand, is cooked with rice, meat (usually chicken or lamb), and spices. The meat and rice are cooked together, resulting in a dish that is more subtly flavored.

How to cook Kacchi biryani at home?

Ingredients

  • Meat (lamb or chicken)
  • Rice (good quality)
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Garlic paste
  • Ginger paste
  • Chili powder
  • Masala
  • Sugar
  • Fried onion
  • Ketchup
  • Ghee
  • Plain yogurt
  • Cooking oil
  • Black pepper
  • Potatoes
  • Cinnamon
  • Bay leaves
  • Green chili
  • Rose water
  • Milk

Directions

  • To start with our recipe Kacchi biryani let’s prepare the ingredients. First, bring all the ingredients above. Also, bring 2 kilos of lamb meat or chicken then clean it well and let it dry.
  • Secondly, In a big pot, let’s prepare the meat sauce. Add 2 tbsp garlic paste, 3 tbsp ginger paste, 1 tsp red chili powder, 2 tbsp of masala powder, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of sugar, 1/4 cup of fried onion, 1/2 cup of ketchup, 2 tbsp of ghee, 1 cup of plain yogurt, 1/2 cup of cooking oil, and 1 tsp black pepper. Mix well.
  • Thirdly, add the meat to the pot then mix again. Cover the pot well then put it inside the fridge to marinate for 8 hours.
  • After that, parboil a kilo of potato for 5 minutes then peel it and cut it in half. Add some cooking oil and a pinch of salt then fry it in a pan until golden brown.
  • Next, let’s move to rice. In a pot, add water, 3 tbsp of salt, 3-4 bay leaves, and 3-4 sticks of cinnamon. Steep for 10 minutes then add 10 cups of rice. Cook for 7 minutes then dry it.
  • After that, let’s go to the big pot of meat. Add the fried potatoes, green chili, 1/2 cup of fried onion, and finally the cooked rice.
  • Next, spread the rice equally then add 1 tbsp of rose water,2 tbsp of ghee, and 1/2 cup of milk. Cover the pot well then put it inside the oven for 1 hour and a half at 350°F.
  • Finally, let it cool then flip the pot to make the meat above. Cheers!!!
