What is Luqaimat?

Luqaimat is an Arabic word means a bite and the meaning of this is this traditional dish can eat every piece from it in one bite. This sweet arabic dumpling is originaly from Emirati cuisine and usually served with tea or Karaq.

Luqaimat is made from a nice compilation of flour and milk and some great toppings that makes you starving. After that, they make it like little balls in a size of a bite then finally with some nuts and honey, this will make it the best at all.

How to make Luqaimat at home?

Ingredients

  • Flour
  • Milk Powder
  • Yeast
  • Starch
  • Salt
  • warm water
  • Cooking oil
  • Syrup or honey
  • Pistachio

Directions

  • Let's make the sweet Arabic dumpling. First, prepare all the ingredients above.
  • Second, in a bowl, Add 1 cup of flour, 2 tbsp of milk powder, 1 tsp of yeast, 1 tbsp of starch, and 1/2 tsp of salt. Mix well.
  • Third, add 1 cup of warm water and knead the mixture until you get a smooth and soft dough.
  • Next, Cover the bowl well and let the dough rest for about 30 minutes until the dough has fermented and doubled in size.
  • After that, heat the cooking oil in a pan on medium heat. Put the dough in a pastry bag, cut the end of it with scissors, and pour the dough slowly into the oil until balls are formed.
  • Next, flip the Luqaimat balls until turns into a nice golden brown color.
  • After that, put the hot sweet balls in the syrup or honey then remove them and put them on a flat plate.
  • Finally, you can sprinkle some ground nuts on top. Cheers!!!
